When should one apply for CA Foundation Exam?

An individual willing to apply for CA Foundation must preferably register for it after completion of 10th but one should take the exam only after completion of their 12th.

What is the eligibility criteria for CA Foundation Exam?

Candidates must have completed their 12th examination to appear in the CA Foundation exam but can register after passing 10th grade.

Can I give the CA Foundation exam after graduation ?

Yes, you can. One must have a minimum of 55% aggregate score in their graduation degree in Commerce discipline or minimum aggregate of 60% in any other graduation degree to be eligible to give the CA Foundation examination.

What are eligibility criteria for CA Intermediate exam?

i) Completed their 12th grade.

ii) Must have cleared the CA Foundation exam.

iii) Candidates must register for IPCC 9 months before the examination date.

iv) Graduates/Post-Graduates must have a minimum aggregate score of 60%.

v) Candidates who have cleared the Intermediate level exam conducted by the ICWA or ICSI are exempted from qualifying CA Foundation. 

Can an individual pursue CA after giving the Intermediate level Examination of ICMAI?

Yes, you most definitely can. If one has successfully cleared their intermediate level exam of ICMAI you get the benefit of directly appearing for the level 2 exam of CA i.e., IPCC.

What is the passing criteria for CA Foundation Exam?

i) Minimum 30% score in each section

ii) Minimum aggregate score of 50%

iii) Students scoring aggregate of 70% will be passed under distinction.

What is the eligibility for CA Final ?

i) Completed their Intermediate Examination.

ii) Completed their 3 - 3 ½ years of Articleship training under a CA.

i) It’s Pen and paper based examination.

ii) It is divided into 2 sessions , each session containing two subjects.

i) There are a total of 8 Papers which are divided into two groups equally.

ii) Each paper is for 100 Marks

iii) Duration for each paper is 3 hours.

iv) Questions will be MCQ (OMR based) as well as descriptive.

What is the cut-off for CA Foundation?

The cut-off is declared by the ICAI every year depending on different set of criteria. 

What is the minimum qualifying marks for CA Foundation?

The qualifying marks vary with every section.

i) Section A - 18 marks

ii) Section B - 12 marks

iii) Section C - 15 marks

iv) Section D - 15 marks

What are the selection criteria for CA Intermediate?

i) In order to clear the IPCC examination one must score a minimum of 40% in each subject and total minimum aggregate marks of 50%.

ii) One should score a minimum of 200 marks in Group 1 and 150 marks in Group 2.

In order to clear the CA Final examination one must score a minimum of 40% in each subject and total minimum aggregate marks of 50%.

What is the fee for CA Foundation?

The fee for online registration for CA Foundation is Rs.1000. If failed to pay on the due date a late fee of Rs.600 will be charged.

What is the fee for CA Intermediate?

i) Fee for both Groups+Unit 9 is Rs. 2700.

ii) Fee for unit 1-8 is Rs. 1500.

What is the fee for CA Final?

The registration fee for CA Final is Rs. 10,000. If a candidate had not paid the registration fee for Articleship they may have to pay Rs. 2000 extra.
