Following are the steps one must follow in order to become a doctor:

i) Take Science stream in 10+2 with PCMB.

ii) Get a Bachelor’s Degree related to subjects of Biology, Physics and Chemistry.

iii) Take the NEET to get into medical school.

iv) Get into Medical school and earn a Medical Degree.

v) Complete the Residency Program.

vi) Become a Licensed Doctor.

Which stream should one choose after completion of 10th to become a doctor ?

One must choose Science stream with PCMB(Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology) in 10+2 in order to get a degree in Doctor.

Can one become a doctor if they dropped Biology in their 10+2?

No, you cannot. One should take compulsory PCMB for their 10+2 to qualify for a degree in Doctor.

What is the eligibility for NEET ?

Eligibility criteria for the year 2020 are as follows:

i) The candidate must be born on or before 31st December 2003.

ii) Candidates must have Indian Nationality or must be NRI, PIO, or OCI.

iii) Candidates must secure minimum aggregate marks of 50% in their 10+2 with PCB as their compulsory subjects.

How many times can I appear for NEET ?

In total one can apply for NEET 3 times.

What is the maximum age limit for appearing for NEET?

There is no maximum age limit specified to appear for NEET.

What is the eligibility required for AIIMS?

i) Candidates must have completed their 10+2 with PCB and English as mandatory subjects.

ii) Candidate must have secured minimum aggregate marks of 60% for General category and 50% for SC/ST/OPH/Foreign National category.

iii) Candidate must be born on or before 31st December 2003.

iv) There is no upper age limit.

i) Must have completed their MBBS from an institution recognised by the Medical Council of India (MIC). 

ii) The candidate must have completed their one-year rotatory internship before 2020.

iii) The candidate must be registered by the Central/State Medical Registration Council.

What are the various entrance exams for becoming a doctor after 12th?

Until 2019 the most common entrance exams at UG level to get into Medical School were NEET, AIIMS and JIPMER. But from the year 2020 AIIMS and JIPMER will be replaced by NEET.

What is the syllabus for NEET ?

Questions in NEET will be based on the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology(Zoology and Botany).

NEET PG is divided into 3 PARTS.

   Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry.

ii) PART B

    Pathology,  Pharmacology, Microbiology,  Forensic Medical and, Social and Preventive Medicine.

AIIMS tests one on the subjects of Physics, Biology and Chemistry of 10+2 standard along with Aptitude and General Knowledge.

What is the exam pattern for NEET 2020?

i) Duration - 3 hours.

ii) Pen and paper based.

iii) Total of 180 Questions.

iv) Total marks - 720.

v) There is negative marking. 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

i) Duration - 3.5 hours

ii) 4 marks will be given for every correct answer. 

iii) 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

iv) Total of 300 Questions will be asked. (PART 1 - 50, PART 2 - 100, PART 3 - 150)

What is the exam pattern for AIIMS MBBS 2020?

i) It is an online computer based exam. 

ii) Duration - 3.5 hours

iii) There are a total of 200 questions which are MCQ based.

iv) 1 marks will be given for every correct answer and ⅓ mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

v) Exam will be taken either in English or Hindi.
