What is Pharmacy?

Pharmacy is an undergraduate degree course which is concerned with the understanding of production, manufacturing and maintenance of medicine. If an individual is interested in doing research in the same discipline, he or she may continue on to doing M.Pharm followed by Ph.D in the same.

What is the educational requirement for B.Pharm ?

The candidate must have PCMB as their  subjects in 10+2. He/she should have a minimum aggregate score of 50% in their 12th grade.

Which course should one take in their 10+2 to pursue Pharmacy?

For Pharmacy there are many entrance tests out there which must have to take in order to get admission into medical college like the MHT CET, TS EAMCET, BITSAT, etc. The aspirant must take up Science stream with PCMB in 10+2 to pursue Pharmacy.

What are the eligibility criteria for TS EAMCET?

TS EAMCET is an entrance test conducted by Telangana State which is also accepted by few colleges around the country.

i) Candidate must be from Science stream with PCM or PCB as their subjects and must have a minimum score of 45% in each subject.

ii) The candidate must have completed 17 years of age as on 31st of December in the year of enrollment/admissions.

iii) Maximum age limit is 22 years. 

What are the eligibility criteria for BITSAT?

i) The candidate must have completed their 10+2 from recognised Central or State board with PCM as compulsory subjects. The candidate must also have sufficient proficiency in English.

ii) The candidate must have a minimum aggregate score of 75% in PCM and minimum of 60% in other subjects.

What are the eligibility criteria for WBJEE?

WBJEE is conducted by the state of West Bengal.

i) The candidate must have Indian citizenship.

ii) Age Limit: 17 years (As on 31st December 2019)

iii) There is no upper age limit.

iv) Candidate must have either PCM or PCB as their compulsory subject in 10+2.

v) Candidate must have a minimum score of 30% in English in 10+2.

Are Arts Stream students eligible to appear for Pharmacy?

No, only students Science stream with either PCM or PCB can appear for Pharmacy.

What are the entrance exams for  Pharmacy?

The most common entrance for B.Pharm are:

i) TS EAMCET (Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test).

ii) BITSAT.

iii) WBJEE ( West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam). 

Which is the most common entrance exam for B.Pharm?

Most common entrance exam for pharmacy is TS EAMCET.

Does BITS Pilani have any entrance exam for Pharmacy?

Yes, they do. The entrance exam conducted by them is BITSAT.

What is the syllabus of TS EAMCET?

Candidates will be tested on the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

The subjects tested are:

What is the syllabus of WBJEE? 

Candidates will be tested on the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

What is the exam pattern of TS EAMCET?

i) It is computer based.

ii) Duration: 3hours

iii) Total of 160 questions are asked.

iv) The questions are MCQ based.

v) The paper is divided into 3 sections - Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry.

vi) For each correct answer 1 mark will be given. There is no negative marking.

i) It is computer based.

ii) Duration: 3hours

iii) Total of 150 questions are asked.

iv) The questions are MCQ based.

In order to qualify the exam the candidate must secure at least 40 marks out of 160.

The selection is merit based. The expected cut-off for the year 2020 is 221.
