Can one become a police officer after completion of 12th?

Yes, aspirants can opt to become police constable after completion of 12th. 

When can one become eligible to become an IPS Officer?

After completion of graduation one can give the Civil Service Examination conducted by UPSC to become an IPS Officer.

What is the eligibility for IPS Officer?

i) Candidate should have Indian citizenship.

ii) Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree from any UGC approved or State University.

iii) Candidate should at least be 21 years old.

iv) Maximum age limit for general category is 32 years. SC/ST and OBC Category get relaxation of 5 and 3 years respectively.

v) Candidate must also fulfill the physical standards given by the board.

vi) Both men and women are eligible.
